Advisory engagement
Inheritance & gifting conversation
Talk through lifetime gifts, nil-rate bands, and how property or pensions pass to the next generation — before solicitor drafts begin.
Who it is for
Families who want a calm, numbers-first conversation before instructing a solicitor. Typical prompts include downsizing, helping with a first home deposit, or worrying that an estate will tip over inheritance tax thresholds.
What you leave with
A plain-language summary of how your assets currently sit for inheritance tax purposes, options for lifetime gifts versus wills, notes on pension death benefits, and a short list of questions to take to your solicitor. We do not draft legal documents.
Constraints
Advice is based on information you provide and publicly available HMRC rules at the time of the meeting. We will not push insurance products as a default “solution” to inheritance tax; where cover is relevant, we say so plainly and separate that recommendation from the planning conversation.
Next step
Request an inheritance conversation. If adult children will attend, tell us in advance so we can shape the agenda.
