Refunds, cancellations & rescheduling
How fees for North Ledger Advisory consultations are refunded, when deposits apply, and what happens if work has already started.
Scope
This policy applies to fees for advisory consultations offered by North Ledger Advisory — including whole-of-wealth advice, pension consolidation reviews, pre-retirement income planning, inheritance conversations, and annual reviews. It does not cover third-party product charges, platform fees, solicitor invoices, or accountancy fees.
Cooling-off and enquiry stage
Discovery calls arranged through our contact form carry no advice fee. Cancelling a discovery call requires no payment.
Refund eligibility
- Full refund — if you cancel a paid engagement in writing before the fact-find meeting and before we have obtained paid third-party valuations on your behalf.
- Partial refund — if you cancel after the fact-find meeting but before the recommendation meeting. We retain a fair portion reflecting work already completed (typically 40–60% of the agreed fee, confirmed in writing).
- No refund of completed work — once written recommendations have been delivered, the engagement fee for that scope is due in full.
Timeframe to request a refund
Refund requests should be emailed to hello@digitcomnet.digital within 14 days of the cancellation event, stating the engagement reference and reason.
Non-refundable items
- Fees for third-party pension valuation or medical underwriting already incurred with your consent
- Time already spent preparing analysis after you supplied documents, where cancellation occurs mid-analysis (subject to the partial refund approach above)
- Annual review fees after the review meeting has taken place
Deposits
For whole-of-wealth engagements we may request a booking deposit (commonly 20% of the quoted fee) to reserve meeting dates. The deposit is applied to the final invoice. It is refundable if you cancel at least five working days before the fact-find meeting; later cancellations may forfeit the deposit if we cannot rebook the slot.
Rescheduling
You may reschedule a meeting once without charge if you give at least two working days’ notice. Repeated short-notice changes may be treated as a cancellation under the partial-refund rules.
No-shows
If you miss a scheduled fact-find or recommendation meeting without notice, we may charge for the reserved time (up to 25% of the engagement fee) or treat the engagement as cancelled with a partial refund assessment.
Work already started
Analysis begins after the fact-find. If you pause an engagement indefinitely after that point, we will invoice for work completed to date and archive the file. Restarting later may require a fresh fee quote.
Materials
We do not sell physical goods. Printed statements you provide remain yours; copies retained in the advice file follow our privacy retention rules.
Refund method and processing time
Approved refunds are paid to the original payment method within 14 working days of approval. Bank transfers may take longer depending on your provider.
